GRAMMY 2026: DELTA GOVERNOR’S AIDE EXPRESSES DISAPPOINTMENT IN CHIOMA

By: Muftau Fatimo
Ossai Ovie, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, has criticised the fashion choices of Nigerian attendees at the 68th Grammy Awards, expressing dissatisfaction over what he described as a poor display of Nigerian cultural identity.
In a social media post, Ovie lamented that Nigerian artists failed to use the global platform to showcase their cultural heritage through their outfits. He singled out Chioma Adeleke’s attire, describing it as inappropriate and not reflective of Nigerian values.
Ovie also blamed her husband, award-winning singer Davido, for not discouraging the outfit choice.
According to him, Chioma’s dressing was overly revealing and aligned more with Western fashion than Nigerian culture, stressing that cultural representation at international events is important. He further stated that he was deeply disappointed in Davido for allowing the outfit.
