The Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria (AMDON) Kebbi State Chapter is very upset about the violent killing of one of its members, Tukur Alhaji Salihu, who was 45 years old. He was shot by officers from the Federal Operation Unit (FOU) of the Nigeria Customs Service Zone B Kaduna, which is linked to Kebbi State.

The secretary of the association, Shehu Yusuf Bunza, in a statement signed by him, stated the incident, which occurred on February 7, 2026, between 11 am and 12 noon, along Nagari College to Illelar-Yari area, within Birnin Kebbi metropolis, is a stark reminder of the growing concerns of extra-judicial killings and human rights abuses in our state and country.

He said the association sees this action as a planned and unfair use of force, which made people in the group and the whole Kebbi State community feel scared, confused, and worried.

“We are very upset that this happened during the day, and the people who did it seemed to act without being stopped, ignoring the value of human life,” he said.

AMDON Kebbi State Chapter strongly rejects this event and is asking the Nigeria Police Force and other security groups to look into it and find the people responsible.
They also want the Kebbi State Government to make sure justice is done and that the rights of the person who died and their family are taken care of. The statement said.

He was taken to the hospital but sadly passed away at midnight and was buried in his hometown in Argungu. The association expresses their sympathy to the deceased’s family and hopes that Allah gives them the strength to deal with this loss.

“We are asking the Nigeria Customs Authority to investigate this right away and take steps to stop such things from happening again.
We also want the Kebbi State Government to give the family proper compensation and support, and ensure that this does not happen again,” they said.

The leadership of AMDON Kebbi State Chapter has officially told the right authorities about this and is working with them to make sure the investigation is complete.

“We urge all members and the public to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands, as justice will be served.”

We also appeal to the National Human Rights Commission, the Nigerian Bar Association, and other human rights organizations to take up this matter and ensure that justice is served.

The deceased, on another account, was said to have been  allegedly shot multiple times while on the passengers not driving.
