Veteran Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has spoken openly about personal and career decisions he now regrets, admitting that challenging experiences have significantly influenced his perspective on life and music.
The legendary singer made the revelation during an interview with the media, where he reflected on lessons drawn from emotionally intense moments and periods of immense pressure.
The father of seven confessed that there were several situations he wished he had handled differently, explaining that stress and heightened emotions played a major role in some of his past actions.
During the conversation, 2Baba also revisited a widely discussed incident in London in October 2025, which involved a disagreement with his wife, Natasha Osawaru. Taking full responsibility, he acknowledged that anger fueled his behavior at the time.
“I was angry that day. It was an unfortunate incident,” he said. “I allowed my emotions to take control. I want young boys and girls to learn from this—when you react in anger, you often regret your actions later.”
He further explained that navigating personal challenges while living under public scrutiny has been difficult, noting that certain experiences have compelled him to reassess how he handles stress and conflict.
The award-winning artiste emphasized that emotional pressure can impair judgment, adding that he has since learned the importance of responding more thoughtfully in tense situations.
“There are many things I wish I could turn back and do better,” he said. “As humans, there are moments when we feel overwhelmed and don’t make the best choices. My thick skin isn’t as strong as it used to be.”
2Baba concluded by saying that these experiences have made him more introspective, teaching him valuable lessons about accountability, emotional discipline, and personal development.
