The Federal Government is set to convene the National Economic Council (NEC) Conference, which will be chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The summit aims to explore ways to enhance economic coordination and foster inclusive growth across Nigeria’s 36 states.

The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President).

The conference, scheduled to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, is being organized by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

Governors from all 36 states, key national stakeholders, development partners, and private-sector leaders are expected to participate.

Themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” the two-day summit will focus on macroeconomic priorities, fiscal coordination, investment mobilization, and collaborative development strategies between the federal and state governments.

Dr. Deborah Oko Odo, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and Secretary of the NEC, said the conference aims to “encourage economic growth and development across the country” while providing policy direction aligned with the Federal Government’s long-term economic agenda.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will attend as Special Guest of Honour, with the event forming part of the government’s ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
