The ongoing trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged killer of SuperTV Chief Executive Officer, Michael Usifo Ataga, was on Monday stalled at the JIC Taylor High/Magistrate Court sitting in Igbosere, Lagos.

The case, which was scheduled to continue before Justice Yetunde Adesanya, could not proceed due to the ongoing relocation of judges in the Criminal Division from the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Complex to the JIC Taylor Courthouse.

Justice Adesanya had earlier, in November 2025, adjourned the matter to Monday for the continuation of the defence hearing.

At the last sitting, Ojukwu, while testifying in her defence, expressed regret over Ataga’s death. Her testimony marked her appearance as the first defence witness, following which her counsel, Mr. Onwuka Egwu, informed the court that the defence intended to call four additional witnesses.

Ojukwu is standing trial alongside her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, and one Adedapo Quadri, on an eight-count charge bordering on murder, conspiracy, and stealing.

All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The case was adjourned to a later date to be communicated by the court.
