POLICE CONFIRMS ARREST OF ONE LINKED TO DEATH OF GOSPEL ARTISTE, THREE OTHERS

The Lagos State Police have said they have arrested one person linked to the death of famous gospel singer Matthew Ogundele and three others who were inside a music studio in Ajah, Lagos State.
The victims also include Itunu Ogundele, Joseph Sanya, and blogger Matthew Awosanya, popularly known as JoesTv. They were found dead on Wednesday at a studio within the HFP Shopping Complex along the Abraham Adesanya axis of Ajah.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, spoke to Vanguard on Sunday and said that the case, which was first reported at the Ajah Police Division, has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba, for more detailed investigation.
She said that one person, who is known to be the organizer of the event, is currently being held in custody.
The investigation is still going on, and they are waiting for the results of the autopsy, she added.

According to the police, the victims were part of a gospel music group that had been invited to perform at a birthday celebration organized by the wife of the studio owner.
After finishing their performance late on Tuesday, they stayed overnight in the studio. The next morning, the studio owner found the door locked from the inside. When they forced their way in, they discovered the four dead bodies.
The police detectives did not notice any signs of physical harm on the bodies.
The victims were confirmed dead at Mainland Hospital in Yaba, and their bodies were placed at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary for the autopsy.
The incident has caused a lot of public reaction, especially on social media, where friends, colleagues, and members of the gospel music community are calling for a complete investigation and justice for the victims. Four people died inside a Lagos studio.
