REMI TINUBU TO OFFICIALLY CLOSE 2026 NATIONAL PARA GAMES

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to attend the closing ceremony of the third edition of the National Para Games at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja today, The PUNCH reports.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) confirmed on Thursday that Tinubu, a long-time advocate for para sports in Nigeria, will be the special guest of honour as the Games conclude on Friday in the stadium’s main bowl.

“Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has confirmed her attendance at the closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of the National Para Games,” the NSC statement read.

“She will serve as the special guest of honour as the games draw to an exciting conclusion on Friday at the main bowl of the Abuja National Stadium.”

Her attendance is set to provide a grand finale to a highly successful tournament that showcased the nation’s top Para athletes from across Nigeria.

The First Lady has long championed sports development in the country, providing funding, support, and advocacy across multiple disciplines.

She was also installed as the Grand Patron of the 2025 Africa Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja and continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to creating opportunities for persons living with disabilities, especially in sports.

The 2026 National Para Games, which began on March 26, are set to conclude on April 3.
