The factional National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafiu Bala Gombe, has stated that the party under his leadership will disqualify aspirants above 55 years of age from vying for political office.

He made this known during an interview with BBC Hausa, where he emphasized a vision focused on generational renewal and increased youth involvement in politics.

According to him, “The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a party that belongs to all Nigerians. What we are doing now is to ensure the party moves forward properly.”

“We have resolved to give young people a genuine opportunity. The time has come for youths to take the lead in politics.

“Anyone above 55 years will not be allowed to contest for positions in the ADC under our leadership.

“We aim to introduce fresh energy, new ideas, and youthful vigor. The future of Nigeria rests on the younger generation.

“The old approaches have not served the country well. We must fully open the space for youths to participate as candidates, leaders, and decision-makers,” he said.
