Arsenal F.C. manager Mikel Arteta has reacted to the passing of former goalkeeper Alex Manninger.
Arteta described Manninger’s death, at the age of 48 on Thursday, as shocking and deeply saddening.
He made the remarks during his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Manchester City F.C. this weekend.
“It is very sad news, and we extend our condolences and love to his family and everyone who was part of his journey.
“It came as a shock and has been very difficult to process,” Arteta said on Manninger’s passing.
