2027: OBI VOWS NOT TO GIVE PARTY AGENTS MONEY FOR VOTE-BUYING

The 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said the Obi/Kwankwaso movement will not provide money to party agents to induce voters during the 2027 general elections.
Obi made the declaration on Monday while responding to questions at a town hall meeting in Sokoto.
The former Anambra State governor described the practice of giving money to voters on election day as vote-buying, saying it was one of the factors contributing to the continued rise in poverty in the country.
“We are not ready to give money to party agents to entice voters. That is vote-buying, and it is part of the reason why poverty continues to rise in the country,” Obi said.
The presidential hopeful also assured voters that adequate security arrangements would be put in place to protect them and ensure that their votes were properly counted and recorded.
Obi attended the town hall meeting alongside his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
