JUST IN: NIGERIA’S FLAMINGOS OUTSHINE USA; ADVANCE TO SEMI-FINALS OF U-17 FIFA WOMEN WORLD CUP

Nigeria’s Under-17 Female National Team, the Flamingos have advanced to the semi-finals of the Female u-17 World Cup holding in India.
On Friday evening, the team defeated the United States of America U-17 team by 4 goals to 3 after a penalty shootout.
The match had ended 1:1 after regulation time which Nigeria scoring first in the 26th minute via a penalty converted by Omamuzo Edafe. The Americans equalized in the 40th minute through Amalia Villarreal.
Without any further goals in regulation time, the matched played at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai, had to go into a penalty shootout.
