
ALABI HANDS OVER TO OWOHUNWA AS LAGOS NEW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

The acting Assistant Inspector General of Police, Abiodun Alabi has officially handed over to Idowu Owohunwa as the new commissioner of police in Lagos state.
While handing over to the new CP on Tuesday, at the state headquarters, he thanked everyone for the huge support given to him since he assumed office in January 2022.
The acting AIG also highlighted the achievements of the command during his tenure, while urging his successor to work on the already laid down arrangements for the upcoming elections.
He added that during his tenure, there was no record of security challenge that led to a major crisis in the state.
He however, advised everyone to accord the new CP maximum support in the discharge of his duties.
Meanwhile, on taking up the mantle of leadership from the former CP, Owohunwa, warned erring officers as he declared zero tolerance to criminal activities in the State, the force and among citizens.
CP Owohunwa advised the electorate to perform their civic duties under the ambit of the law.
He urged Lagosians to show their support by being open to information that would aim crime management.
Abiodun Alabi was deployed to the Lagos State Command on January 24, 2022 as commissioner of Police. He is now the acting assistant Inspector General of Police zone 2, Onikan headquarters, while Idowu Owohunwa was a principal staff officer to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, before he was deployed to Lagos as Commissioner of Police.
