
LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT CHARGES CELEBRITY BUSINESSWOMAN WITH TAX EVASION
The Lagos State Government has accused interior designer and entrepreneur Ehizogie Ogbebor of tax evasion.
Ogbebor, who is well-known on social media, was accused on 12 counts of failing to pay personal income tax to the Internal Revenue Service by the deadline required by law starting in 2014.
Sections 41 and 94 (1) of the Personal Income Tax Act of 2004 and Sections 56(a) and (b) of the Lagos State Revenue Administration Law of 2006 were allegedly violated by the defendant, according to the government.
The prosecution attorney, A. I. Alli, informed Justice Yetunde Adesanya that he had a motion on notice dated May 10, 2023, asking the court to order substituted service on the defendant when the case was heard on Monday before the Lagos State High Court at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).
Alli said, “We ask the court’s permission for substituted service to post the notice on the defendant’s last known address in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
