HAJJ: FIVE NIGERIANS DIE IN SAUDI ARABIA, 30 WITH MENTAL ILLNESS

The Nigerian National Hajj Commission has announced the deaths of five Nigerian pilgrims who were taking part in the ongoing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Usman Galadima, the leader of the NAHCON Hajj medical team, announced this on Saturday during a commission meeting in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, adding that 30 patients also had mental health issues.
He identified two delegates from Osun and Kaduna states, as well as one from Plateau State.
Galadima revealed that the persons with mental illnesses are now having therapy and will soon perform Hajj.
“There are 30 of them with mental health issues,” he says.
“We’ve been dealing with them at our facilities. We have four psychiatrists on our squad.”We have been monitoring them, and all of them are likely to perform Hajj now that they are more stable.”
He went on to say that the 2023 Hajj clinic had two miscarriages and delivered one baby.
