NNL WARNS CLUBS AGAINST REGISTERING NEW PLAYERS FOR SUPER EIGHT PLAYOFF
The Nigeria National League has issued a stern warning to club’s against registering new players for the Super Eight playoff tournament.
This was made known by the NNL Chief Operating Officer, Dr Ayo Abdulrahman to clubs during the draw for the competition on Wednesday.
Abdulrahman urged the clubs to submit their team list by May 22, 2024.
He said the board expects that the names should consist of players who were already registered for the 2024 season.
“It’s not a norm that when Super Eight is coming we must register new players. No please, erase it from your mind,” Abdulrahman said in his speech at the draw ceremony.
“2023-24 NNL season first round is what we have just completed with the regular season, we have created two transfer windows at the beginning and the mid-season transfer.
“Any request for registration before the competition starts will be rejected likewise during the competition because it is unethical.”
The NNL Super Eight playoff tournament will run from 7th-14th June, 2024, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
