The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has issued a public disclaimer regarding misleading information circulating about the Diaspora Mortgage Pre-financing (DMPF) initiative, in collaboration with HXAfrica.

In a statement released today, FMBN clarified that claims made in a recent post concerning the 40 million Diaspora Mortgage Pre-financing scheme are false and fraudulent. The statement cautioned the public against falling victim to the scam, warning that no official announcement has been made about the program’s commencement.

FMBN emphasized that any future updates about the Diaspora Mortgage Pre-financing will be officially communicated through the FMBN and Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) websites and verified social media channels. The agency also noted that while HXAfrica has expressed interest in participating in the program, it has not yet received approval to do so.

The statement further assured Nigerians in the diaspora that both FMBN and NIDCOM are in the final stages of coordinating with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to finalize arrangements for the scheme.

“To protect potential beneficiaries, we urge the public to be cautious and only rely on authentic announcements from FMBN or NIDCOM,” the statement concluded.

Members of the public are advised to disregard any unverified claims regarding the Diaspora mortgage scheme and to await official notifications from the appropriate authorities.
