TROOPS ELIMINATE 16 ISWAP/BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN BORNO STATE OPERATION
By Aishat Momoh. O.
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralised 16 terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram during a coordinated operation in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Nigerian Army confirmed the development in a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday.
According to the statement, the terrorists were spotted at approximately 1 a.m. on Friday, prompting troops to launch a sustained indirect fire assault on their position.
“The main objective of the terrorists’ movement was to attack the Brigade,” the Army disclosed. “However, swift and precise action, including the deployment of air support, ensured that ground troops were effectively reinforced and the threat was neutralised.”
The operation marks another significant success in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Nigeria’s North-East region.
