MAN DETAINED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING HIS MOTHER IN OSUN

An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun State on Monday ordered the remand of Taofeek Jimoh at the Ilesa Correctional Centre over the alleged murder of his mother.
Jimoh, whose residential address was not disclosed and who appeared in court without legal counsel, is facing a murder charge.
According to the Prosecutor, ASP Fatoba Temitope, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on February 19 in the Oke-Ola area of Osogbo. He alleged that Jimoh physically attacked his mother, Taibat Jimoh, during a dispute, which resulted in her death.
The offence is said to violate Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
Magistrate O. Olatunji ordered Jimoh’s remand due to the seriousness of the charge and adjourned the case until June 17 for mention.
