LAGOS DECLARES WEDNESDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR 2025 ISESE DAY CELEBRATION

The Lagos State Government has declared Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as a work-free day for public servants in commemoration of this year’s Isese Day celebration.
The declaration was made in a circular issued by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to promoting indigenous culture, traditions, and heritage.
According to the circular, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the holiday to provide necessary support for traditional institutions in the state while encouraging the preservation of cultural values.
Public servants are expected to resume work on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
The Head of Service further directed all accounting officers to ensure that the circular is given wide publicity across ministries, departments, and agencies.
