Dangote Industries Limited has publicly rejected claims that one of its trucks was involved in a fatal crash in Ondo State, clarifying that the vehicle in question does not belong to its fleet.

According to a statement issued by the company, investigations show the truck was owned and operated by a third-party firm, and was not affiliated with Dangote’s transport operations. The firm emphasised that the use of its branding on the vehicle was unauthorised and that it is working with relevant authorities to determine how its logo came to be displayed.

Dangote also expressed concern about the rapid spread of “misinformation” linking its vehicles to deadly road accidents, saying that such reports not only harm its reputation but also distract from broader road-safety issues. The company pledged to intensify efforts to protect its brand identity and urged the public and media outlets to verify claims before attribution.

While the crash remains under investigation by law-enforcement agencies in Ondo, Dangote reaffirmed its commitment to safety, transparency and full cooperation with the probe.
