NAHCON REDUCES 2026 HAJJ FARES, SETS DECEMBER 5 PAYMENT DEADLINE
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a reduction in fares for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage and set December 5, 2025, as the deadline for payments by intending pilgrims. The commission said the adjustment followed negotiations with service providers in Saudi Arabia and a directive from the federal government aimed at making the pilgrimage more affordable.
Pilgrims departing from the southern states will now pay ₦7,991,141.76, down from ₦8,784,085.59, while those from the northern states, excluding the Maiduguri‑Yola zone, will pay ₦7,696,769.76, reduced from ₦8,457,685.59. The Maiduguri‑Yola zone covering Borno, Adamawa, and surrounding areas has a revised fare of ₦7,579,020.96, down by ₦748,104.63 from the previous rate.
NAHCON Revised 2026 Hajj Fares
NAHCON stressed that all payments must be completed by December 5 to secure participation in the 2026 pilgrimage, urging pilgrims to make timely arrangements to avoid losing their slots. The fare reduction is expected to ease the financial burden on pilgrims and their families while encouraging compliance with the commission’s regulations. NAHCON reiterated its commitment to providing affordable, safe, and well-organized Hajj services for Nigerian pilgrims.
