EDUCATION DISTRICT II STEPS UP SCHOOL MONITORING AS TGPS SANNI TOURS IKORODU SCHOOLS

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, has intensified his ongoing monitoring tour of schools across the Ikorodu zone to ensure compliance with state educational standards and improve overall academic performance.
The exercise, which began shortly after he assumed office in October, forms part of the district’s core strategy to sustain quality education, strengthen accountability, and enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
During the visits, Sanni interacted with school administrators, teachers, and students while assessing key indicators such as academic practices, discipline, infrastructure, and general learning environments. His on-the-spot observations, he said, are crucial for identifying areas requiring urgent intervention or long-term improvement.
“We believe that regular monitoring is essential in maintaining high educational standards,” Sanni stated during one of the visits. “By working closely with schools, we hope to ensure that every student receives a quality education that prepares them for the future.”
The TGPS emphasised that the initiative underscores the district’s commitment to nurturing an environment where all learners can thrive. He also called for continued community participation, noting that collective support remains vital to improving educational outcomes.
Schools visited during the latest tour include Agbede Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, Isawo Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, Majidun Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, Oriwu and Civil Service Junior and Senior Model Colleges, and Oreyo Junior Grammar School, all within the Ikorodu zone.
Education District II says it will continue implementing strategic reforms and providing the necessary resources in alignment with state education policies.
