The management of Kwara State University (KWASU) has ordered the temporary evacuation of students and staff from the Ilesha-Baruba Campus to the main campus in Malete, following rising security concerns across the state and the country.

According to reliable sources, students were advised to move with only essential belongings, while the university works out safer accommodation arrangements at the main campus. The directive is said to be a precautionary measure aimed at protecting the lives and welfare of the university community.

This development comes just a few days after the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, alongside key management staff, visited the Ilesha-Baruba Campus on November 30th, 2025, to assess students’ welfare and facilities.

The temporary evacuation is expected to remain in place until the security situation improves and normal academic activities can safely resume at the campus.
