TINUBU MEETS WITH SERVICE CHIEFS IN ASO ROCK

President Bola Tinubu is having private meetings with top military leaders and security officials at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The military leaders were seen arriving at the front of the Villa around 4:30 pm on Tuesday.
This meeting took place just three hours after Tinubu named the former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (retd.), as the new Defence Minister.
The current Defence Minister, Abubakar Badaru, resigned his position on Monday night, shortly after Musa was seen at the Villa.
The security heads were led to the meeting by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede.
Also present are the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General W. Shaibu, Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke, and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral I. Abbas.
The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lt. General Akomaye Undiandeye, the Director-General, Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi, and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, are also in attendance.
Last Wednesday, Tinubu declared a nationwide security emergency after a series of abductions happened. He announced several actions, like hiring 20,000 more police officers, sending in forest guards, and increasing security at schools, churches, and mosques in areas that are at risk.
Our correspondent saw the Abia State governor, Alex Otti, walking into the President’s office building.
Otti was wearing a grey knee–length traditional outfit and had a stack of documents with him.
