LOOKMAN STARTS NEW CHAPTER AT ATLETICO MADRID

Ademola Lookman, the winger for the Super Eagles, is happy after arriving in Madrid to start a new chapter in his career with Atletico Madrid. This marks the end of a long transfer deal that had been talked about for a while. The 28-year–old landed in the Spanish capital on Sunday after months of discussions and delays in finalizing his move from Atalanta.
Atletico Madrid confirmed the signing after the Italian club agreed to a €40 million deal, made up of a €35 million base fee and €5 million in performance-related add-ons. Atalanta had previously resisted several bids for Lookman since last summer, despite the player’s desire to seek a fresh challenge.
The Nigerian player is set to have medical tests on Monday before signing a long–term contract. His leaving means the end of a special time in Bergamo, especially because of his amazing hat–trick in the 2024 Europa League final.
