NASARAWA POLICE APPREHEND TWO SUSPECTS, RETRIEVE STOLEN DAF TRUCK CABIN

Nasarawa State Police operatives have apprehended two suspects and recovered a stolen DAF truck cabin in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area, following a targeted intelligence-led operation.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, announced the development on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, the operation was conducted under the directives of the CP to enhance community policing and intensify efforts against criminal activities across the state.

Police officers attached to Mararaba ‘A’ Division acted on credible intelligence and, at around 10:30 a.m. on February 28, 2026, arrested two suspects identified as Abdulrahaman Danjuma, 31, of Mararaba, and Saadu Umar, 34, of Zone Four, Abuja, at Tudun Wada in Mararaba.

During the raid, officers recovered a white, unregistered DAF truck cabin suspected to be stolen. A search of the vehicle also uncovered two number plates with registration numbers DGA 118 XA and USS 168 XA.

The suspects confessed that the trailer was stolen from Kogi State and transported to Mararaba, where its body had already been sold for ₦4 million to an unidentified buyer through an intermediary who remains at large.

“The suspects admitted to stealing the trailer from Kogi State and moving it to Mararaba, where the trailer body was sold through a proxy,” the statement said.

CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the operatives for their professionalism and directed intensified efforts to apprehend others connected to the crime. He also ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects and the recovered truck cabin to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for further investigation.

The police assured residents of their continued commitment to fighting crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property across Nasarawa State.
