LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT REDEPLOYS ADETOLA JOHN AS NEW ACCOUNTANT-GENERAL

The Lagos State Government has announced the redeployment of Mr. Adetola, Muyiwa John as the state’s new Accountant-General.
The appointment was disclosed on the state government’s official Facebook handle on Tuesday in a statement titled, “Sanwo-Olu approves redeployment of Mr. Adetola, Muyiwa John as new State Accountant-General.”
According to the statement, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the redeployment of Adetola as both Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary of the State Treasury Office (STO).
The move follows the statutory retirement of the outgoing Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Dr. Abiodun Muritala.
An official circular from the Office of the Head of Service confirmed that Adetola was redeployed from his previous role as State Auditor-General in the Office of the State Auditor-General. The redeployment took immediate effect from Monday, March 2, 2026.
The Head of Service, Bode Agoro, congratulated Adetola and urged stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
The statement described the redeployment as strategic, emphasizing the government’s commitment to efficiency, accountability, and continuity in public financial management.
