The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has announced the suspension of all pilgrimages to Israel and the Middle East due to escalating regional tensions.
Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Executive Secretary of the commission, disclosed this during a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday. He said the suspension applies to both NCPC-organised trips and those operated by private pilgrimage agencies, and will remain in effect until security and normalcy are restored in the region.
Bishop Adegbite also confirmed that over 500 pilgrims who participated in the 2025 pilgrimage safely returned to Nigeria on Tuesday.
The NCPC urged prospective pilgrims to monitor updates from the commission before planning any trips to affected destinations.
