In the only officially announced results of the presidential election, incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC polled 219,232 votes while the closest rival and People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar got 154,032 votes in Ekiti.

The results were announced by INEC’s returning officer and vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Idowu Olayinka.
