ADELEKE VOWS TO DO MORE, SAYS FIRST-TERM PROMISES HAVE BEEN FULFILLED

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that his administration has fulfilled the promises made to the people during the 2022 governorship campaign, assuring residents that even greater developmental projects await the state if he is re-elected.

The governor made the remarks during the Imole Campaign Council’s consultation and mobilisation tour in Erin-Osun and Ilobu, both in Irepodun Local Government Area, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke expressed appreciation to the people for their continued support, saying his government had remained committed to delivering good governance.

Reflecting on his first term, the governor said he had honoured the pledges made during his 2022 campaign and promised to intensify development efforts if given another mandate.

“I appreciate your support. When we came here in 2022, I promised you good governance, and I have fulfilled what I promised. But the people have not seen anything yet. We will do much more for Osun State,” Adeleke said.

At the grand finale of the campaign rally in Ilobu, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf, speaking on behalf of stakeholders in Irepodun Local Government Area, passed a vote of confidence in the governor’s administration.

Yusuf also pledged overwhelming support for Adeleke’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that the governor would emerge victorious in the August 15 governorship poll.

Traditional rulers in the area also threw their weight behind the governor’s second-term ambition.

The Elerin of Erin-Osun, Oba Yusuf Adekunle, prayed for Adeleke’s successful re-election and expressed confidence that the people of Erin-Osun would once again entrust him with the mandate to continue the state’s development.

Similarly, the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Ashiru Olatoye, assured the governor of the support of the people of Ilobu and the wider Irepodun Local Government Area.

The monarch said the community remained committed to backing Adeleke’s re-election, expressing optimism that the governor would secure another term to sustain his administration’s developmental agenda.

Osun State voters are expected to head to the polls on August 15, with 14 political parties fielding candidates in the governorship election.
