Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has described the outcome of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election as a significant political indicator ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the result reaffirmed public confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, the governor said the turnout and peaceful conduct of the election demonstrated continued support for the APC and its programmes among voters.

Yusuf stated that the exercise was conducted in a free, fair and credible manner, reflecting the genuine choice of the electorate.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful conduct of the poll and praised security agencies for maintaining peace and order throughout the electoral process.

The governor also congratulated the APC candidate on the victory and urged him to remain focused on delivering quality representation to constituents.

According to Yusuf, the election outcome further confirmed the APC’s strong political presence in Kano State and positioned the party favourably for future electoral contests.

He criticised the New Democratic Congress for failing to present a candidate in the election, arguing that the development exposed the party’s weak grassroots presence.

Yusuf added that the by-election result highlighted what he described as the limited influence of opposition elements in the state, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to implementing people-centred projects and improving the welfare of residents.

The governor further extended congratulations to President Bola Tinubu and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on the party’s performance in recent by-elections across the country.
