ATIKU’S US LOBBYING FIRM TO ENGAGE TRUMP OVER TINUBU GOVERNMENT

A United States-based lobbying firm working for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said it will engage the administration of US President Donald Trump next week over the government of President Bola Tinubu.

Von Batten Montague York-LC disclosed this in a post on X on Tuesday, following Trump’s address at the United Nations General Assembly.

The firm said Trump, during his speech, expressed concern about foreign governments that the United States had identified as persecuting Christians, alleging that Nigeria under Tinubu was among the countries of concern.

It further alleged that the Tinubu administration was complicit in the killing of Christians across Nigeria and accused the government of also targeting Muslims, including children involved in mining activities to support their families.

“We will engage with the Trump Administration next week to emphasise that President Tinubu’s government is not only complicit in the killing of Christians across Nigeria but is also directly targeting innocent Muslims, including impoverished Muslim children who were mining simply to help feed their families,” the firm said.

The lobbying firm added that it would urge the Trump administration to support free and fair elections in Nigeria.

According to the firm, credible elections would give Nigerians the opportunity to remove Tinubu from office and elect what it described as responsible leaders.

The allegations were made by the lobbying firm and have not been independently established.
