BANKY W EARNS MASTER’S DEGREE FROM GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY (PICTURES)

Singer, actor, and politician Bankole Wellington, widely known as Banky W, has announced that he has completed a Master’s degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

He made the announcement on Tuesday through his Instagram page, where he reflected on the challenges and fulfillment of juggling fatherhood, academic pursuits, and public service while in the United States.

“I am thankful to share that I have just earned my Master’s degree in Policy Management (some institutions call it an MPA — Master’s of Public Administration),” he wrote.

Hezekiah Oluwadarasimi Wellington, his second son, was born in the middle of the school year while Banky W was working on his degree.

He said it was a rewarding yet exhausting experience.

“Parenting two children in the US, while earning a full-time Master’s and serving as a Fellow on Capitol Hill all at the same time was completely exhausting, but by the grace of God, the strength of faith and the support of family and friends, we did it.”

The father of two also shared a note on faith, personal growth, and the power of reflection, saying the last few years had been a season of stretching and learning for him and his family.

“What many may see as the finish line of a journey can become the starting point of the next chapter of your story.”

“You can’t pour from an empty cup, and so sometimes, it is necessary to step off the dance floor and onto the balcony… to reflect on how far you have come, who you are, and who you would like to become.”
