BAUCHI POLICE ARREST 22-YEAR-OLD CARPENTER FOR ALLEGED THEFT OF FOUR PLASMA TELEVISIONS

Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a 22-year-old carpenter, Auwal Mohammed, for allegedly stealing four 43-inch plasma televisions from a residence in Bauchi metropolis.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil, disclosed the arrest in a statement issued late Monday. According to the statement, the suspect, who resides in the Sabon Railway area, was hired to work at an undisclosed residence where he discovered the televisions and allegedly relocated them to a concealed area within the house.
Wakil explained, “The suspect reportedly kept the televisions hidden within the premises for about two weeks before transferring them to a neighbour’s house for safekeeping, where he received N50,000 as credit.”
Further investigations revealed that Mohammed later sold one of the stolen televisions to a known dealer in stolen goods for N40,000. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend his accomplice and recover the stolen property.
The police said the suspect will be profiled and charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
