BREAKING: AIR PEACE FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUSPENDED NATIONWIDE

Flight operations by Air Peace have been disrupted nationwide following a protest by members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, who reportedly shut down the airline’s terminals.

The development disrupted flight operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, with an Air Peace flight scheduled to depart at 6:30 a.m. unable to take off.

Similar disruptions were reportedly recorded at airports across the country as the protest by union members continued.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the incident when contacted for comment.

“Yes, it is a union thing. When I get to the airport, I will be able to get more factual details of the situation,” he said.

The development left several passengers stranded at the Lagos airport, with flights delayed amid the protest.

An X user, identified as YoufoundAlex, said he was stranded at the airport while trying to make a 9:00 a.m. appointment in Abuja.

“I have a 9:00 a.m. appointment in Abuja today, but unfortunately, I am currently stranded at the Lagos airport due to an ongoing protest by Air Peace workers, which has resulted in the shutdown of the airport and disruption of flights,” he wrote.

As of the time of filing the report, the management of Air Peace had yet to issue an official statement on the development.

It was also unclear whether the protest had affected the operations of other airlines at the affected airports.
