The House of Representatives on Tuesday summoned the Service Chiefs and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, to appear before the parliament over the worsening security situation in the country.
The decision followed a surge in insecurity incidents nationwide.
The resolution was reached during plenary after lawmakers adopted a motion moved by Sulaiman Gumi, who represents Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency of Zamfara State.
According to reports, banditry and terrorist attacks have continued across various parts of the country, leading to deaths and widespread kidnappings of innocent citizens.
In response, there have been growing calls urging President Bola Tinubu to dismiss the Service Chiefs to allow for the appointment of more effective security leadership.
