The Warri-itakpe train service has been temporarily halted by the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
The company’s managing director, Kayode Opeifa, revealed this in a statement posted on his X account on Thursday.
There will be a 72-hour suspension.
The suspension was attributed in the announcement to a technical engine failure that occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2025.
“In view of the situation, the NRC has suspended operations on the Warri-Itakpe route for 72 hours. This pause will allow our technical team to conduct a full audit, resolve all identified issues, and restore safe and reliable service,” the statement signed by Henrietta Eregare, NRC’s public relations, reads in part.
