POLICE REFUTE NAVAL OFFICER IN FACE-OFF WITH WIKE ASSASINATION ATTEMPT

HOTJIST NEWS The FCT Police Command has reacted to the trailing of Lieutenant AM Yarima by unidentified persons in two unmarked Hilux vans in Kubwa on Sunday evening, with the officer conducting escape manoeuvres to lose them. According to military officials, an investigation is underway into the incident in which the drivers of the vehicles followed Yarima from the NIPCO Station off the Kubwa Motorway to Gado Nasco Road. SP Josephine Adeh, the police command spokesperson, responded to the report by saying, "The FCT Police Command has been alerted to social media postings that claim Lt. Ahmed Yerima was the victim of an attempted assassination. The Command would like to make it clear that no such occurrence has ever been documented or reported in the Federal Capital Territory. The public is urged to ignore this misleading information and refrain from disseminating unsubstantiated statements that could incite needless fear. "The Command encourages the people to be on guard and report any suspicious behavior to the closest Police Division for the protection of all inhabitants."

OPERATIONAL REPORT ON INCIDENT FROM OWERRI, IMO STATE CAPITAL

In an attempt to coerce the operators into granting an unlawful outage, state government agents purportedly acting on behalf of the Imo State Government broke into and damaged the control rooms at the Egbu 132/33kV Transmission Substation, according to information obtained from Owerri. All NISO employees working at the impacted facilities were taken captive and made to open the breakers by the operatives after they forcibly disconnected them at gunpoint. Information has been obtained thus far from attempts to contact the Imo State Government for clarification. No government agency or State Electricity Regulatory Commission person has gotten in touch with NISO about the issue as of the time of this report, and no update has been given.
