Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034.
The England international was previously contracted to the Premier League club until 2033, but his improved deal extends his stay by another year.
“Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I’m delighted to sign and I’m obviously very happy,” the 24-year-old said.
Palmer added that discussions with the club’s owners, sporting directors and manager gave him the confidence to commit his future to Chelsea.
He also expressed his desire to win major trophies consistently and play an important role in the club’s success.
The forward joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023 and has recorded 91 combined goals and assists in 138 appearances for the West London side.
However, he struggled with a persistent groin injury last season and was controversially omitted from England’s World Cup squad by manager Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel also claimed Palmer had “missed too many opportunities” to represent England after withdrawing from the squad for the recent Nations League fixtures.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso defended the forward on Friday, insisting that Palmer remains committed to England and needs to regain full fitness to deliver his best performances for club and country.
Despite his previous injury concerns, Palmer has made a strong start to the season, scoring four goals in seven appearances across all competitions.
His close relationship with England teammate Morgan Rogers reportedly played a role in convincing the midfielder to join Chelsea from Aston Villa during the close season.
Palmer’s new deal is the latest long-term contract handed to a Chelsea player, following recent extensions for Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto that also run into the 2030s.
