Saudi Professional League side Al-Nassr have reportedly made contact with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola over the possibility of him becoming their next head coach.

The Spaniard’s agent confirmed that Al-Nassr reached out to the former Barcelona coach regarding the opportunity to lead Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates in Saudi Arabia.

Guardiola has already announced his intention to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season.

His representative, Josep Maria Orobitg, said the approach from Al-Nassr came before the manager made his decision to depart the Premier League champions.

Reports had suggested a massive offer of nearly €130 million per season, but Orobitg dismissed the figure as exaggerated.

He told Okaz, “There was contact a month and a half ago, merely contact, without any commitment or formal offer. It is not that much money.”

Guardiola’s agent further clarified that discussions were limited and did not progress beyond initial contact, adding that Al-Nassr currently have little chance of securing his services.

“There was also contact with the Saudi Arabian Federation about 15 days ago, but there will be no further discussions for the time being. At present, neither party has a significant opportunity to sign Guardiola.”

Guardiola will leave Manchester City as the most successful manager in the club’s history, having won 20 trophies during his tenure. He is expected to continue with City Football Group as a global ambassador.
