EFCC ARRESTS 92 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN BENIN-CITY

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 92 alleged internet fraudsters in Edo State.
The suspects were taken into custody during an undercover operation on Monday, September 29, 2025, at multiple sites within Benin City, Edo State.
Their apprehension was predicated on reliable intelligence regarding their presumed participation in computer-related offenses.
All appropriate protocols for arrest were adhered to throughout the operation.
Following their detention, 11 vehicles and mobile devices were confiscated.
Preliminary inquiries by the Commission have associated the suspects with various types of internet-related fraud.
They will be prosecuted as soon as investigations are finalized.
