Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has scrapped ticket fees for commercial tricycle operators, popularly known as Keke riders, across the state.
Mbah announced the decision on Saturday during an event held at Okpara Square in Enugu State.
The governor also announced an extension of operating hours for commercial tricycles to 10 p.m., allowing operators to continue transporting passengers later into the evening.
The measures are expected to ease the financial burden on Keke operators and improve access to transportation for residents, particularly during evening hours.
The development marks a change in the state’s regulations governing commercial tricycle operations.
