Nigerian striker, Obafemi Martins is currently planning to open a night club somewhere around Lagos since football is no longer bringing income for him, after he fell out of contract with Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua in May, 2019.

Hotjist.com gathered from a reliable source that the out of favour Nigerian player has been a regular costumer in major night clubs in Lagos, especially on the Island after he was released by the Chinese club. The source mentioned that he is an extravagant spender when he visits these clubs, spending upto 2 million naira in a single night.

Hotjist also learnt that Martins had struggled to bounce back into regular football after he recovered from a long lay-off with a torn hamstring injury, but no team showed interest in the former Inter Milan and Newcastle forward.

The 34-year-old who last played for his country in 2013 is currently recruiting staff for his new night club business, which he is keeping to his chest. Hotjist can reliable report that he will be announcing the opening soon.

Martins scored 32 goals and provided nine assists in 59 appearances for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua before the season-ending setback in April 2018.

He joined Shenhua from Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders.

Martins who has not played for his country since March 2013, scored in both legs of the Chinese FA Cup final to help Shanghai Shenhua win the 2017 Chinese FA Cup.

He began his professional career in 2001, bursting into the international limelight at Italian side Inter Milan before switching to Newcastle in August 2006.

Martins scored 35 goals in his three seasons with the Magpies, later joining Birmingham City on loan in 2011.

The striker, who has also had spells in Germany, Russia and Spain, will be remembered for scoring Birmingham City’s winner in their 2-1 Carling Cup final victory over Arsenal in 2011 – the club’s first silverware since 1963
