Fans, colleagues and well-wishers have celebrated veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw as she marked her 55th birthday on Sunday, with tributes pouring in across social media.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the award-winning actress announced her birthday in a post shared on her verified Instagram account, where she reflected on her life’s journey and expressed gratitude to God for His grace and faithfulness.

“I have lived. I have loved. I have lost. I have learned. I have fallen. I have risen. And through it all, I have been carried by GRACE.

“As I step into another year, my heart has just two words: THANK YOU. Thank You to the King of Kings, my Heavenly Father, for every chapter, every lesson, every blessing—seen and unseen. And above all, for the precious LOAN of LIFE.

“Chapter 55 begins. Quietly grateful. Deeply blessed. Completely present. Happy Birthday to me,” she wrote.

The post attracted an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues, who praised the actress for her enduring career, youthful appearance and contributions to the entertainment industry.

One fan, @papaya_ex, wrote, “55 or 25? Happy birthday, very stunning ageless queen. May things fall in place for you, and may the Almighty grant all your heart’s desires.”

Another admirer, @dttransports, described Henshaw as “the queen herself,” praying for long life, sound health and greater accomplishments.

@preciousenobohien also celebrated the actress, writing, “I hope this new year brings all your heart desires. To know you is to love you. Have the best birthday, Mama.”

Born on July 19, 1971, in Cross River State, Henshaw is widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most accomplished actresses.

She made her acting debut in the 1993 movie When the Sun Sets and has since featured in more than 100 films, earning acclaim for her versatility across drama, romance and action genres.

Before venturing into acting, she worked as a model and appeared in several television and print advertisements, including campaigns for Shield deodorant.

Her outstanding performance in Stronger than Pain earned her the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2008.

Beyond acting, Henshaw is known for promoting healthy living, youth development and women’s empowerment. She has also served as a judge on reality television shows and remains an outspoken advocate for good governance and civic responsibility.

In 2014, she contested for a seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. She has continued to use her public platform to speak on national issues and inspire positive social change.
