FUNKE AKINDELE SUPPORTS KAMO STATE’S ‘STARLOMO’ AMID RIFT SPECULATION

Funke Akindele has thrown her support behind Kamo State’s debut cinema film, Starlomo, days after her absence from its premiere sparked speculation about the state of their relationship.
Kamo State is regarded as one of Akindele’s protégés. In May, the actor described his relationship with the filmmaker as a divine blessing and a major turning point in his career.
Akindele was absent from the film’s Lagos premiere on September 20, prompting speculation on social media about a possible rift between the two.
Kamo later dismissed the reports, explaining that Akindele was out of the country at the time of the premiere.
“I woke up to see different opinions online about Iyami and myself,” he wrote.
“Please, we’re on good terms. She missed my premiere simply because she wasn’t in the country and nothing more to it, so please don’t assume otherwise.”
On Saturday, Akindele shared a post on X congratulating Kamo State and filmmaker Kayode Kasum while encouraging her followers to see the movie.
“STARLOMO… Let’s go see a good movie this weekend,” she wrote.
“Congratulations @kamo_state @kayodekasum. I wish you all the best at the box office.”
She added that Starlomo was showing in cinemas nationwide and urged her followers to watch the film.
Kamo State responded by thanking Akindele for her continued support.
“Iyami Da? Iyami Re ooo, Thank you for supporting me always ma, I’m grateful mama,” he wrote.
Starlomo was released in cinemas nationwide on Friday.
Kamo began his career as a skit maker alongside his former partner Ozain as part of the comedy duo Nepa Boys before pursuing a solo career.
He later transitioned into acting, appearing in projects including Warlord, Behind The Scenes, Abanisete, Adunni, Everybody Loves Jenifa and Labake Olododo.
