HOW TO CHANGE PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL ADDRESS ON JAMB PORTAL

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a procedure for candidates who have lost access to their registered phone numbers or email addresses to update their details through the JAMB portal.
The examination body announced the development in a video shared on its X account on Wednesday, outlining the steps candidates need to follow to access the service.
The move comes after several candidates reported difficulties changing their registered phone numbers and email addresses, with some saying they could no longer receive result notifications or access their JAMB profiles through their registered emails.

JAMB said candidates who have lost their SIM cards can now update their registered phone numbers by replacing the old number with a new one. Those who no longer have access to their registered email addresses can also change them to new ones.
JAMB advised candidates who have lost access to their registered SIM cards or email addresses to follow the prescribed steps to update their details.
1. Get a court affidavit
Affected candidates should visit a High Court and obtain an affidavit to support their request for a SIM swap or email change.
2. Log into JAMB e-Facility
After obtaining the affidavit, candidates should log into their JAMB e-Facility profile.
3. Select ‘Penalties’
On the e-Facility menu, select “Penalties.”
4. Select SIM Swap/Email Change
Under the Penalties menu, select “SIM Swap/Email Change Penalty Payment.”
5. Pay the prescribed fee
Candidates should then pay the prescribed fee for the service through the portal.
6. Visit a JAMB office
After making the payment, candidates should proceed to the nearest designated JAMB office to complete the process.
JAMB said the service is available only at designated JAMB PTC/PRC Centres.
7. Provide your profile code and existing GSM number
Candidates will be required to provide their profile code and existing GSM number at the JAMB office.
8. Complete biometric verification
The affected candidate will undergo biometric verification as part of the process.
9. Upload the court affidavit
JAMB said the scanned copy of the court affidavit will also be uploaded to complete the process.
Who can use the service?
JAMB said the service is for candidates who have genuine cases of lost access to their registered GSM numbers or email addresses.
The board said the service can be accessed only once, meaning candidates should ensure that the information they provide during the process is accurate.
