The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has announced electricity disruptions in several communities across Osogbo, Osun State, following damage to a high-tension electricity pole and ongoing technical work on two power feeders.
The company disclosed this in separate notices issued by its Osun Region on Saturday, informing customers of outages affecting different parts of the state capital.
According to IBEDC, a broken high-tension pole at Biket Junction, opposite Fresh FM in Osogbo, had disrupted electricity supply on the Ota Efun/NCC 11kV feeder.
The affected communities include Saibu Gomina, Iyana Camp, Ota Efun I and II, Ayekale I, II, III and IV, Webisco, Abidogun I, II and III, Bucom, Kobo I, II, III and IV, Kobongboe, Ayegbami, Alatori and Modogbon.
In a separate notice, the distribution company explained that technical work on the NCC 11kV feeder had also affected electricity supply on the SRM 33kV feeder.
IBEDC listed the affected areas under the second notice as Biket, Ota Efun, Kobo, Dagbolu, Osogbo and neighbouring communities.
The company attributed the disruptions to the damaged electricity infrastructure and ongoing technical activities on the affected feeders.
It, however, assured customers that its technical team was working to resolve the issues and restore electricity supply to the affected communities.
IBEDC also apologised to residents and other affected customers for the inconvenience, appealing for their patience and understanding while repair and maintenance work continued.
The company did not provide a specific timeline for the restoration of electricity, leaving residents awaiting further updates.
