INEC DECLARES APM’S ADAMU YAKUBU WINNER OF SAKWA BY-ELECTION IN BAUCHI

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Adamu Yakubu of the Allied Peoples Movement the winner of the Sakwa Constituency bye-election in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Muhammad Sabo of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, declared Yakubu the winner after the collation of results from the constituency.
“Adamu Yakubu of the Allied Peoples Movement, having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the Sakwa Constituency by-election,” Professor Sabo announced.
Yakubu polled 8,515 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress, which came second with 3,771 votes.
The Peoples Democratic Party secured 2,076 votes, while the Peoples Redemption Party polled 727 votes.
“I, therefore, declare Adamu Yakubu of the APM duly elected,” the Returning Officer said.
