The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the initiation of the 2025 nationwide Continuous Voter Registration program in preparation for the forthcoming elections.
In a declaration made by the Commission through its X account on Friday, it was stated that online pre-registration will commence on Monday, August 18, 2025, via its official website: cvr.inecnigeria.org.
The Commission also revealed that in-person registration will begin on Monday, August 25, 2025, at all INEC Local Government Area offices and designated registration centers across the country.
It indicated that the registration exercise will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
INEC urged eligible Nigerians who have not yet registered to take advantage of the opportunity to do so.
The announcement stated, “This initiative is intended for Nigerians who have reached the legal voting age or those who were unable to enroll in earlier initiatives.
“We urge all qualifying citizens to either initiate the process online or visit our offices and designated locations once the in-person registration commences. ”
INEC has reminded the public that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise is not limited to new registrants.
According to the Commission, the process also covers applications for transfer of voter registration, replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and correction of personal details such as names and dates of birth.
- Reaffirming its dedication to a credible electoral process, INEC stated, “Our aim is to ensure that every eligible Nigerian can exercise their civic rights. We are committed to making the voter registration process accessible, transparent, and inclusive.”
