IRETI KINGIBE WONT RETURN TO SENATE, SHE HAS NO PROJECT TO SHOW- WIKE

Nyesom Wike, the minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said again that Ireti Kingibe will not go back to the senate in 2027 because she has “no project to show.”
Kingibe, who is the senator for the FCT in the upper house of the legislature, was chosen as a senator in 2023 through the Labour Party’s platform. In 2024, Wike promised that the senator would not be elected again in 2027.
Before that, Kingibe said Wike had ignored her letters and messages during a time when there was a lot of insecurity in Abuja.
The senator also said Wike wasn’t focused on the needs of the FCT, pointing out that people were struggling with water shortages and other problems.
At a media event in Abuja on Monday, Wike connected his claim that Kingibe wouldn’t return as a senator to the progress on development projects.
“I told Senator Ireti more than a year ago that she wouldn’t come back as a senator.
That’s why some people don’t like people who tell the truth. It’s hard. Let her show one project,” he said.
He also mentioned that Kingibe hasn’t been present in the smaller communities where voters actually go to cast their ballots.
“I had said it more than one year ago, Senator Ireti, you won’t come back as a senator. That’s why you people don’t like people who tell you the truth. It’s bitter. Let her show one project,” he said.
He added that Kingibe has been absent from satellite communities where folks actually turn out to vote.
